Designing clarity in complex products

I’m a Principal Product Designer who helps teams design clear, scalable digital experiences, especially when products are complex, data-heavy, or evolving quickly.

I work at the intersection of product, design, and engineering to turn ambiguity into structure and ideas into systems that hold up in the real world. I’m most effective when the problems are hard, the constraints are real, and the decisions matter.

My path into design

I started my design career in 2005 in New York City, but design wasn’t my original plan. I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and initially wanted to become a doctor. That path changed after moving to the U.S., where I discovered design and realized it combined creativity, problem-solving, and impact in a way that felt right.

In 2007, I made a pivotal decision to go deeper into front-end development and UX design. Learning how things are built fundamentally shaped how I design. It taught me to think in systems, collaborate closely with engineers, and design solutions that are not just thoughtful, but feasible and scalable. Since then, I’ve worked across enterprise platforms and consumer products, helping teams navigate complexity and build experiences that users can trust.

Beyond product work

In addition to my product work, I care deeply about teaching and mentoring designers. I’ve spent years helping designers at different stages grow their skills, think more critically about their work, and build portfolios that reflect real thinking.

I’m the author of The Self-Made Portfolio, a practical guide for designers building portfolios that get noticed. I also speak and contribute to the design community, sharing lessons learned from working on real products with real constraints.

I’m an Adobe Partner and Creative Ambassador, working through their creator program to help designers grow their craft and confidence.
